SPANISH LANGUAGE CERTIFICATIONS
The Common European Framework provides a structured descriptive basis for language skills. The aim is to assign titles from different certification bodies for all European languages, which are categorized in 6 levels of knowledge:
A1 -Basic, A2 -Basic, B1 -Moderate, B2 -Good, C1 -Very Good, C2 -Excellent

DELE diplomas, from the Instituto Cervantes
on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Education of Spain.
Greek State Grade Certificates of Language Proficiency (KPG).
The system of examinations for (KPG), although it is addressed to Greek-speaking people, adopts the principles set by the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Commission (EU), so they have international recognition.
Their upgraded structure allows candidates to have double chances of certification at at least one level, depending on their performance in the tests of both levels!

Escolar diplomas are aimed at children and adolescents up to the age of 17 and the subject matter is chosen to suit the interests of these age groups.
DELE -ESCOLAR A1
The DELE Diplomas are the only internationally accredited official titles granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training in Spain.
The Escolar A1 diploma certifies language proficiency corresponding to the Elementary Knowledge Level (A1), the first of six on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
This diploma certifies the student’s ability to respond and respond to simple situations related to everyday issues.
The exam consists of four tests in general language fields:
- Comprehension of written language (45 minutes)
- Comprehension of spoken language (20 minutes)
- Written speech production and interaction (25 minutes)
- Oral speech production and interaction (15 minutes)
DELE -ESCOLAR A2 / Β1
The ESCOLAR A2 / B1 exam is graded, so that the candidate, depending on his performance, obtains a corresponding level of certification
ESCOLAR A2 certifies language proficiency corresponding to the Basic Knowledge (A2) level, the second of six on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
This diploma certifies the student’s ability to understand and use everyday phrases and expressions that are frequently used and related to his experience and are particularly important to him (basic information about himself, his family, places of interest,
ESCOLAR B1 Certifies the language proficiency required in order to cope satisfactorily with situations that require an elementary level of knowledge. (B1)
The test consists of the following tests:
- Comprehension of written language (50 minutes)
- Comprehension of spoken language (30 minutes)
- Written speech production and communication (50 minutes)
- Speech production and communication (15 minutes)
DELE A1-A2 diplomas are aimed at adults without age limit and the topics are chosen to correspond to the interests, activities and social gatherings of adults.
DELE A1
The DELE Diplomas are the only internationally accredited official titles granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training in Spain.
The DELE A1 diploma certifies language proficiency corresponding to the Elementary Knowledge Level (A1), the first of six on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
This diploma certifies the ability of the holder to respond and communicate in simple situations related to everyday issues aimed at meeting immediate needs.
The exam consists of four tests in general language fields:
- Comprehension of written language (45 minutes)
- Comprehension of spoken language (20 minutes)
- Written speech production and interaction (25 minutes)
- Oral speech production and interaction (15 minutes)
Diploma A2
Certifies the language proficiency corresponding to the Basic Knowledge (A2) level, the second of six on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
This diploma certifies the holder’s ability to understand and use everyday phrases and expressions that are frequently used and related to areas of his experience and are particularly important to you (basic information about yourself and your family, shopping, places of interest, occupations, etc.).
The exam consists of four tests in general language fields:
- Comprehension of written language (60 minutes)
- Comprehension of spoken language (35 minutes)
- Written speech production and interaction (50 minutes)
- Oral speech production and interaction (15 minutes)
DELE B1
It certifies the language ability required in order to cope satisfactorily with situations that require an elementary level of knowledge.
The test consists of the following tests:
- Comprehension of written language (70 minutes)
- Comprehension of spoken language (40 minutes)
- Production of written speech (60 minutes).
- Oral and written comprehension, written production and communication (15 minutes)
DELE B2 – Intermedio (Cervantes)
It certifies the language ability required in order to cope satisfactorily with everyday life situations that do not require a specialized use of language.
The test consists of the following tests:
- Comprehension of written language (70 minutes)
- Comprehension of oral speech (40 minutes).
- Mixed skill: Spoken and written comprehension, written production and communication (80 minutes)
- Mixed skill: Comprehension of written speech and Production of oral speech and communication (20 minutes / 20 minutes of preparation)
State Graduate Certificate of Language Proficiency (CPG)
LEVEL B (B1-B2)
- The total of the questions of each single graded test allows to secure 200 credits, half of which come from the questions of the lowest level of difficulty (B1) and the rest from the questions of the highest level of difficulty (B2).
- Examiners who obtain a score from 60 to 119 are awarded a B1 certificate
- Examiners who obtain a score from 120 to 200 credits are awarded a B2 certificate, provided they have obtained a score equal to or greater than the following: First module 15 credits, second module 18 credits and third module 15 credits.
DELE C1
This diploma certifies the language proficiency required in order to be able to express itself spontaneously and easily without any obvious effort to find the appropriate expression.
Recommended for the following tests:
- Comprehension of written language and use of language (90 minutes)
- Comprehension of spoken and written language and use of language (50 minutes)
- Mixed skill: Spoken and written comprehension, written production and communication (80 minutes)
- Mixed skill: Comprehension of written speech and Production of oral speech and communication (20 minutes / 20 minutes of preparation)
C2
This diploma certifies the language proficiency required in order to respond to situations that require advanced use of the language and knowledge of Spanish culture.
The DELE C2 competition consists of the following tests:
- Use of language, Comprehension of written language and auditory comprehension (105 minutes)
- Mixed Dexterity: Spoken and text comprehension, written production and communication (150 minutes)
- Mixed skill: Comprehension of text and production of oral speech and communication (20 minutes / 30 minutes of preparation)
Target Audience
- to those who have done Spanish in the past up to Proficiency class (level C2)
- to those who have successfully completed the Lower level (level B2)
- to those who wish to be certified in C2 level certificates (DELE, KPG) for work or study in Greece or abroad.
State Graduate Certificate of Language Proficiency (CPG)
LEVEL C (C1-C2)
The examination system for the State Certificate of Language Proficiency (KPG), although aimed at Greek-speaking people, has a European orientation and adopts the principles set by the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Commission (EU).
- The total of the questions of each single graded test allows to secure 200 credits, half of which come from questions of the lowest level of difficulty (C1) and the rest from questions of the highest level of difficulty (C2).
- Subjects who obtain a score from 60 to 119 are awarded a C1 certificate
- Examiners who obtain a score from 120 to 200 credits are awarded a C2 certificate, provided they have obtained a score equal to or greater than the following: First module 15 credits, second module 18 credits and third module 15 credits.
The examination that the candidate submits to be certified is of two types, depending on his / her age.
- Test for people aged 10 to 15 years
- Test for people 16 years and older.
